In summary, a low pass filter is an electronic circuit that allows low frequency signals to pass through while blocking high frequency signals. It is important to calculate the cut-off frequency for a low pass filter in order to design a filter that meets the desired frequency response. The formula for calculating the cut-off frequency for a low pass filter with 2 op-amps is fc = 1/(2πRC), where fc is the cut-off frequency, R is the resistance in ohms, and C is the capacitance in farads. The cut-off frequency can be adjusted by changing the values of the resistance and capacitance components in the circuit. Low pass filters with 2 op-amps have various applications in audio equipment, communication systems, power

How do I work out the cut-off (corner) frequency of a Low Pass Filter?

I know the equation is fc = 1/(2∏(fn)RC)

but I have 2 op-amps in the filter both with different fn's, R's and C's

is it simply calculate each part separately and add the 2 values together?

Cheers

Related to Calculate Cut-Off Frequency for Low Pass Filter w/ 2 Op-Amps

What is a low pass filter?

A low pass filter is an electronic circuit that allows low frequency signals to pass through while blocking high frequency signals.

Why is it important to calculate the cut-off frequency for a low pass filter?

The cut-off frequency determines the point at which the filter starts to attenuate high frequency signals. It is important to calculate this in order to design a filter that meets the desired frequency response.

What is the formula for calculating the cut-off frequency for a low pass filter with 2 op-amps?

The formula is: fc = 1/(2πRC) where fc is the cut-off frequency, R is the resistance in ohms, and C is the capacitance in farads.

Can the cut-off frequency be adjusted for a low pass filter with 2 op-amps?

Yes, the cut-off frequency can be adjusted by changing the values of the resistance and capacitance components in the circuit. A higher resistance or capacitance will result in a lower cut-off frequency, while a lower resistance or capacitance will result in a higher cut-off frequency.

What are some applications of low pass filters with 2 op-amps?

Low pass filters with 2 op-amps are commonly used in audio equipment to remove high frequency noise and distortion from signals. They are also used in communication systems, power supplies, and other electronic devices to filter out unwanted noise and signals.
