Homework Statement


as a project we need to build a cantilever structure out of newsprint, thread, and masking tape. It can only weigh 350 grams and has to support 1 kilogram, and must stretch 12 inches off of a surface. We have an idea, but we don't know how to make it stronger while keeping it under the 350g weight limit.

im thinking we are going to use truss-like structures and build an arm hanging off the table with 6 total trusses and build it taller than it is wide so there is less sagging of the structure.
