    Thermal Properties: Pressure, Volume, Temp question

    No I wasn't given any equation. I thought that that one would work though because I was only missing one variable. Do I use pv=nrt?

    Thermal Properties: Pressure, Volume, Temp question

    well it wants the answer in celcius. Does that equation have to be done with Kelvin units?

    Thermal Properties: Pressure, Volume, Temp question

    Homework Statement A Jaguar XK8 convertible has an eight-cylinder engine. At the beginning of its compression stroke, one of the cylinders contains 499 cm cubed of air at atmospheric pressure (1.01E5 Pa) and a temperature of 27.0 degrees C. At the end of the stroke, the air has been...

    Chemistry How Many Moles Were Consumed in a Titration with 5.29 ml of 0.256 M Na2S2O3?

    I multiplied by 2 because there are 2 S2O3 in the equation. Doesn't that mean you multiply it by two so that your ratio is correct?

    Chemistry How Many Moles Were Consumed in a Titration with 5.29 ml of 0.256 M Na2S2O3?

    M = mols/volume I know M and the volume, so it should be M * volume..not divided..right? .256 * .00529 = .00135 .00135 * 2 = .0027 mols. Is that right?

    Chemistry How Many Moles Were Consumed in a Titration with 5.29 ml of 0.256 M Na2S2O3?

    I just realized there is supposed to be an arrow in between the 2H and the Cl; that is where the equation splits into reactants and products. I'm looking over it again and trying something different. I messed up in the math the first go around .256/.00529 L = 48.4 mols X 2 (because there...

    Chemistry How Many Moles Were Consumed in a Titration with 5.29 ml of 0.256 M Na2S2O3?

    Homework Statement The overall chemical equation for the titration reaction is: OCl(aq) + 2 S2O3(aq) + 2H+(aq) 6 Cl(aq) + S2O6(aq) + H2O(R) If a titration requires 5.29 ml 0.256 M Na2S2O3, (i) how many moles of S2O32&(aq) were consumed in the titration, and (ii) how many moles of...

    Maximizing Area of Rectangle w/440yd Perimeter

    Homework Statement A running track consists of a rectangle with a semicircle at each end. If the perimeter is to be exactly 440 yards, find the dimensions (x and r) that maximize the area of the rectangle. [Hint The perimeter is 2x + 2\pir Homework Equations The Attempt at a...

    Formula of a mixed copper salt

    The 2H2O is because it's a hydrate. You kind of lost me on the dozen analogy though. If you have a dozen CuBr2 molecules wouldn't that just be a dozen Cu atoms?

    Formula of a mixed copper salt

    Homework Statement Cu2+OH-, and Br- form a mixed salt formula Cux(OH)yBrz. In an experiment to determine the values of x, y, and z in the formula of this compound, .760 g CuBr2 (223.4 g/mol) was dissolved in water and reacted with 10.22 ml 0.555M NaOH. Assume that in this reaction, all of...
