This is probably a real easy problem but I can not get this problem right for my life, so would someone please help me out here :redface:
A 9m beam of mass 300 kg extends over a ledge, the beam is not attatched, but simply rests on the surface. A 75 kg student intends to position the beam...
Inertia and Center of Mass??
I'm a bit confused about finding the moments of Inertia for objects, I know
I=Icm+MD^2
but what exactly is D, is it the distance from the Center of Mass to the pivot point, can someone please explain this to me? :confused:
Can someone please help me with this problem, a hint, anything something?
A girl throws a stick with a length of 0:25 m
and a mass of 0.53 kg into the air in such a
way that the center of mass rises vertically.
At the moment it leaves her hand, the stick
is horizontal and the speed of the...
I had a question on my HW, but my professor has yet to go over g's and the textbook I have has absolutely nothing about them neither. The question asks:
You want to design a large, permanent space
station so that no arti¯cial gravity is neces-
sary. You decide to shape it like a large...
How would I calculate the g's felt? I thought it was centripetal acceleration divided by gravitational acceleration, then you add 1, is this right at all??
Ugh!?
I don't know what your talking about,
I thought I would use:
.5m( (.7*c)^2-(.5*c)^2)
c= the speed of light
I was also told an equation like m^2c^2((1/sqrt(1-(v^2/c^2)))-1), but I kept geting zero for my answer and the actual answer is like 3.69??e-11, but I do not know how...
Can some one help me out here, I have tried using several different methods but I still don't know what I am doing wrong.
The question is:
A proton in a high energy accelerator moves w/a speed of 0.5c, use the work-energy theorem to find the work required to increase its speed to 0.7c...
I have to questions concerning air resistance. Can someone please help me?!
A 252 N bag of nails falls at its terminal speed. How much air resistance acts on the nails?
