Aha! Of course...thats what I was missing! I was so close just forgot to factor the x out.
Thanks very much - this problem was really getting under my skin!
Homework Statement
y=(2-x)/(5x)
Solving for x=f(y)
I can get as far as 5xy=(2-x)
Tried 5xy=-1(x+2)
All attempts at solving this have given me the wrong answer, and I end up with x on both sides of the equation.
Stuck and not sure what to do.
Correct answer is x=2/(5y+1) , but I don't...
Thanks for the reply Jim.
Good to hear I'm on the right track then. Preferrably i'd like to have done all the math before I get to Camosun, so I can focus on the rest of the coursework while I'm there. Lord knows there's already enough crammed into the bridge program without all that math to...
Does anyone know where I might find some learning resources on expansions/compressions of graphs - in particular, taking the compressions/expansions/translations and writing the function?
I'm finding this very counter-intuitive and have gone over all the material I have on the subject for the...
I'm just doing a bunch of planning ahead right now as I won't even be starting an engineering program until next September. Due to some financial constraints, i'll be taking an engineering technology program first, then working for a couple of years, then going to university for the final two...
