Seems like Schott S8612 and BG40 are best IR-cut UV-A pass filters money can buy. Although I will have opt for QB21 which has lower UV transmission but is significantly cheaper.
Hello. I want to coat titanium metal, more preciselly grade 5 alloy with thick titanium coating. Can coating be done using electroplating method with chrome salt? I guess titanium surface will have to be somehow well prepared, removed from oxides so that chrome won't just peel off from titanium.
I can't find liquid crystal based paints in online shops. I mean thermochromatic not those with just two colors but LC which have beautiful rainbow colors corresponding to minute temperature changes.
Anybody tried extracting liquid crystals from LCD displays? I do have defective PC LCD display from which I plan to get polarizer film and maybe make lamp from backlight, it would be great if I could make as well thermochromatic paint from display.

Today almost anything can be bought online but PEM come at high cost. Maybe some batteries use them or other devices?

Ok, looks like I'll just have to order from Ebay platinum coated titanium anode for versatile use and test it's quality. Don't want to do trial and error experiments which could cause poisoning.

Well there are titanium platinum anodes on Ebay but can't sure they fake, without platinum coating. Platinum is even more expensive than gold so price supposed to be high. What would using just pure titanium anode?

No I didn't consider silver thin film filter. Can you share spectrum of it? There is better slightly infrared cut filter BG40 but these are expensive. For UV photography great filter is 330WB80 although it's 25mm diameter.
