Induction motor windings, number of turns per phase and per pole

These are m-phase motor, in the usual case m is three, then phase windings are the same, but displaced 120º. My question is related to how many turns you would use per pole, so to keep flux within saturation limits. A n-pole motor (with n>2) is used when you want a lower synchronous speed.

Induction motor windings, number of turns per phase and per pole

Hi, I have some question regarding windings on induction motors, if anybody can help. Reviewing some literature (*), the usual formulae to get the number of turns per phase of a induction motor winding is Eph= RMS phase voltage [V] Nph= number of turns of phase winding f= frequency [Hz]...

    Compressor aftercooler power load

Hi, I want to use a compressor aftercooler and to size it I tried to calculate the heat load needed for lowering the outlet Tª to about 50ºC. I was checking the heat load of compressed air at 7bar 100L/min, the compressor manufacturer says outlet Tª should be about 150ºC. Input electrical...

Opening/closing valves and shock types caused

Just used the shock tube example as I did not find any good explanation or example related to the "regular" rarefaction wave that I guess is produced also at valve opening, the usual sources always treat the "closing" water hammer wave, but not the opening case, so is not very clear for me what...

Opening/closing valves and shock types caused

Hi, I`ve had past experiences with pressure switches giving "strange" (pulsed) signals due to nearby discharge valves closing or opening. Looking a little into it I run into reading about compressibility theory and "shock tubes". Just for info, a "shock tube" is a tube with 2 zones...

    Pressure distrubution inside accelerating vehicle

Homework Statement We have an accelerating vehicle with constant a. Air inside it with mass m. It is kind of closed box of length L and front area S. First objetive: we want to derive the steady state pressure distribution inside the box. Second objetive: we want to derive the transient...

Volume to fill pneumatic spring at a pressure

Hi, I am reviewing a pneumatic calculation. One step is to calculate how many liters of air (at normal conditions) are needed to fill up some pneumatic springs. The calculation does the following for getting the volume to add needed (Vn) to get a predefined pressure, (liters at normal...
