I suspect that the double slit experiment is a thought experiment. I seriously doubt if anyone has ever done the experiment in reality. But I could be wrong. Has anyone ever done it? If so then where were the results published?
It seems to me that the concept of a space elevator does not take Coriolis force into account. If the elevator were in built with a space station in geosynchronous orbit and counterweight then there is more to reaching the space station than just climbing the rope. The rope would have to be...
I have a copy of Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick and Walker. The book has 952 pages plus appendices. There are many entries in the index which point to pages beyond 952. For example if I look up "dark matter" it points to page 1136. There's no such page. I don't know what's...
Thanks for your input. I have been quite busy lately, partly due to Christmas, and have not found time to do very much with the problem. But I will get to it ASAP. You've given me some new ideas.
Many years ago I was given a problem involving the calibration of sets of weights. Each of two sets consisted of weights of 1.0 kg, 500.0 g, 300 g, 200 g, and 100 g. The two 1.0 kg weights were calibrated by the international agency in France and I was permitted to assume that their masses...
If power from the engine ceases then the car will not "keep moving because of inertia" and then start losing speed. It will start decelerating immediately. I seriously doubt that providing power in a series of pulses would be beneficial. I think it more likely that such a system would be less...

No big deal...
I want to thank everyone for their input.
