Speed, energy, power and air resistance

Well, then it make sense. Not very intuitive (to me) that power increase that way in relation to drag.

Speed, energy, power and air resistance

What is wrong here. If I double speed drag will be 4 times higher. The engine needs to put out approximately 4 times more power. Energy consumption will be 4 time higher for a specific time period. However if it is a fixed distance I will arrive in half the time an the energy consumption will...

I Stretching a rubber band increase its mass but how?

Thank you all! That gives me a slightly better understanding :) I should have thought about that myself when knowing that mass also increase with speed.

Number and kind of particles in the object?

    Solar panels vs reflecting surface?

PV panels are black or dark blue as far as I know so is it obvious that its better to put up a PV-panel compared to just paint the same surface white? Yes one would need to brighten up a big area to make any difference :) Perhaps something that floats in the ocean water?

    Solar panels vs reflecting surface?

Assuming that a black solar panel has an efficiency of 20%. This energy could be used instead of burning oil and decreasing CO2 emission. But the black color also accumulates a significant amount of the solar energy into heat locally on planet surface. Comparing this with a white panel (non...

Drop in power in a directed microwave beam?

Thanks! What would be a short / large distance in this context?

Drop in power in a directed microwave beam?

Would it be a drop in power as the square of the distance in a directed microwave beam? Thanks!
