    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

oh wow you have remote control car toys also?! I guess that's best way for me to know, is to try it out myself. I could put the car on a stand-secured and get the wheels up to speed and see for my self...I guess even disconnect servo arm and feel it for myself. :D yay "science" lol

    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

Opps, sorry about my wording. by "turning the wheels" my meaning is the steering action; changing the angle of the wheel/tire that is spinning so fast. The thing that powers the steering is called a servo. Like the classic bicycle wheel demonstration where there is resistance when changing the...

    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

Yuppers, even at MUCH lower speeds the balance matters, at 8500rpm it is absolutely CRUCIAL mechanically, more so than the mass of the wheel / tire combo imo. The tires am using are rated for right around 100mph. I believe some have gone 120+ with them. they're "speed ratings" for RC tires...

    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

holy snappers! I think you guys see the physical world much more clearly than me. is the force needed to turn the wheels, while they're rotating at the 8500rpm VERY high compared to when the wheels are not rotating? What I imagine is the speed with which the servo could change the angle of the...

Thanks! same comment for you as Drakkith. Fantastic explanations imo

    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

DOH! thank you for clearing up my err in conceptualizing and providing a MUCH better approach!

    B Centrifugal Force on Rotating 4" tire / wheel @ 100mph

Heya PhysicsForums! Remote Control Car toy tires and wheels. a 4" tire/wheel rotates at 8400rpm at 100mph. Am wondering how many "g's" the tire "experiences" at that rpm; I imagine it being hundreds of times (if below is accurate am WAY off with my guess) Using a centrifugal force...

I Understanding Lorentz Factor & Proper Time Invariance

me too, though of course to a MUCH lesser understanding than you have. (you've explained lots to me years ago) I found the simple light clock to be very helpful too, for me helped visualize / see it play out. The Minkowski modeling gets into comparatively more abstracted presentation than the...

I Understanding Lorentz Factor & Proper Time Invariance

imo is crucial for better understanding. I find the part I underlined to be VERY well worded. Textbook quality imo. (only thing I can think of is including the spatial separation between measurement taken and the thing being measured. for example "is measured at a distance to be time dilated.")...

What is the newest installment of 'Random Thoughts' on Physics Forums?

Today I learned the creator and writer of Deadwood has dementia. And that we (fans of Deadwood) got the Deadwood movie in the "nick of time". The New Yorker article / interview of David Milch Side note wow the New Yorker writes at a high level, between their interviewer / writer and Milch I...

Boeing How Safe is the Boeing 737 Max's MCAS System?

You're just restating facts; am not sure you're saying anything new or addressing anything specific. Just being correct is all...I see.

Boeing How Safe is the Boeing 737 Max's MCAS System?

It was certified stable, in the previous vid of that "series" he says and shows this and gives the FAA regulation number. Of all the various vids I've seen on the incident; his by far are most accurate and well said. I time stamped the vid below to where Juan explicitly states the 737 max...

News Ethiopian Airlines 737 crash discussion

Feels a bit strawman peter. The iteration Juan says in the vid is exactly all I've ever said in this thread. Effectively so did you above. Which imo is odd and concerning; disappointing. I actually took your earlier post as being true, and spoke to others about this stick feel requirement...
