I'm just curious, what would it really take to travel to a parallel Universe? How much energy and what kind of technology would enable a person to travel to other Universes?
I'm fascinated by hypersonic aircraft. But what is the fastest velocity the human body can withstand? Mach 6, Mach 8? I look forward to the day when people can circle the globe in a matter of minutes. Will this be possible?
I wasn't sure where to put this post, but I'm interested in the Kardashev Scale and what the different Types of Civilization are in relation to us. I'm only somewhat familiar with Types 1-3 but am interested if it can go higher than that and how it can be described.
Specifically, does our Universe exist on the inside "skin" of a bubble or the outside "skin" of a bubble? I'm sure this has something to do with M-Theory or brane cosmology, right? I'm curious.
It's funny how astrophysicists and cosmologists always debate back and forth about the ultimate fate of the Universe. Either they think the Universe will collapse upon itself...or it will expand until nothing is left.
I'm willing to bet these scientists never considered a third outcome...
The source of gravity is gravitons. These gravitons are sub atomic particles emitted by anything that has mass. The more mass an object has, the more gravitons it emits.
I have heard many bizarre theories on what happens at Absolute Zero. Some think that space-time itself becomes crystallized, making it possible to time-travel or travel faster than light! Others believe that when Absolute Zero is reached, it might cause instant and complete entropy of the...
I remember reading an old article about ZPE. Physicists claim that the ZPE found within a common light bulb has the potential to boil away the Earth's oceans. This got me to thinking of Star Wars and the super laser of the Death Star. It destroyed a whole planet! I know it was only a sci-fi...
Just say for the sake of argument it could achieve light speed...what then? Would the crew be able to survive the death of the Universe through time dilation?
Here's a scenario:
A crew travels through the Universe in a spaceship capable of 100% light speed. Relativity states that anyone inside of said craft will experience time dilation, possibly to the point of time coming to a complete stop for the crew/passengers. But time passes much quicker...
Unfortunately our current understanding of physics combined with our current technology does not permit interstellar travel. Even with our fastest, most powerful rocket engines it would take several thousands of years to reach nearby stars.
I'm sure this is a tired question but I'm curious...if I were able to escape the boundary of the Universe, what would I see? The Universe supposedly resembles a "bubble." So...this cosmic bubble would have to exist within a larger medium, right?
