Difference Electric Field Strength Point Charges vs. Plates

Thanks for the answers. I found my flaw in my reasoning on my own.

Difference Electric Field Strength Point Charges vs. Plates

Why does the electric field strength on a straight line (E = k.(Q1/d12+Q2/d22). D1,2 = distance with respect to Q1,Q2) between two point charges vary with the location on this line while the field strength between two parallel plates which remains the same anywhere between the plates...

3x230V grids without neutral -- What countries use it?

There's some "inconsistencies" here. 1. Delta windings don't have a center, that's the nature of the problem 2. That's the case in most parts of the world but has only meaning if the supply side is grounded as well. A return path via the Earth must exist for earthing to be functional 3...

3x230V grids without neutral -- What countries use it?

That surprises me. Seems extremely dangerous to me as these lines float with respect to ground, meaning they can be at any potential including a leak, capacitive or inductive coupling from a 10kV primary for example. Furthermore RCDs are no longer functional in such configuration.

3x230V grids without neutral -- What countries use it?

I presume you have RCDs in Norway. Does that mean that 1 leg is connected to ground?

3x230V grids without neutral -- What countries use it?

Does anybody here happen to know which countries have 3x230V grids without neutral. I know that this exists in some areas in France and Belgium. Was told Norway as well, not sure? Any other? Thanks

Cause of metal deterioration in heating element coil

No the dryer was at the same location (store room inside house, region of moderate climate, room occasionally heated during winter) fully static, during this 10-year period.

Cause of metal deterioration in heating element coil

I put a tumble dryer that had been used only a few times back in operation after a decade being completely out of service. Heating failed shortly after switching on. Checked the heating element and noticed that it is broken at a dozen locations. The spiral is very brittle and breaks easily when...

RMS value secondary voltage electronic halogen transformer

I am trying to derive a scaling factor for an analog voltmeter for the purpose of measuring the secondary voltage of an electronic halogen transformer (EHT). http://www.ledbenchmark.com/faq/Transformers-Output-and-Compatibility.html The output voltage of these things is a "high frequency"...
