Math Olympiad Resources: Free, Online Guides for High School

Are there any free, online Math Olympiad resources for studying? These are the high school level math competitions. I'm not looking for past competitions, as much as studying/practice/explanation guides which review material, etc. I welcome any suggestions

Physics Should I Pursue Physics or Join the Army?

That's interesting. I never thought of that. I'm a US citizen as well, but I know many people from the Israeli army (like my father, from whom I somehow automatically gained American citizenship) that are still US citizens, so I'm not sure that's a problem.

Physics Should I Pursue Physics or Join the Army?

does anybody else, by the way, think that a few years isn't too terrible a waste of time?

Physics Should I Pursue Physics or Join the Army?

I'm not sure if they've got nuclear submarines, but they've got a very advanced air force and many R&D departments in the army. The problem is, one usually enters these after extensive testing and competition with other applicants, something which I doubt I can stand out in. Chances are...

Physics Should I Pursue Physics or Join the Army?

I'm 17, a junior at SAR HS. I am looking forward to a career in physics. This has been my dream for years. I excel at it in my class and am involved in various science and math activities in school and out of school. I am also an Israeli citizen, which means I get a draft notice to join the...

Light cones in faster than light travel

    thanks a lot that's what I thought.

Light cones in faster than light travel

Looking for clarification: FTL travel is said to imply signals moving backwards in time for some inertial frames. Is this because in certain cases, depending on how much greater than light speed one is able to achieve, someone can signal someone else's "past light cone" in the graphical sense...

What would happen if we rode on a light beam?

Riding on a light beam... Einstein, i believe, famously wondered what riding on or next to a light beam would be like. I'm just curious, since at the speed of light the time frame collapses, so time ceases to move or exist, would Einstein actually "see" light that was "frozen"? doesn't this...

    Antimatter from time-traveling electrons

thanks. i was just wondering if you actually had a time machine, would it annihilate itself upon initiation.

    Antimatter from time-traveling electrons

if an electron going forwards in time generates/is equivalent to a positron going backwards in time, would matter going backwards in time leave antimatter in its place (going forwards in time)? thanks
