Math III cambridge as a bsc physics

I got in with slightly lower grades than yours after a BSc in Physics. I guess it depends on what modules you want to take, if you're looking at the pure maths ones, then maybe you aren't prepared, but if you're looking at their applied maths ones, I'd say a BSc from Imperial should definitely...

Imperial QFFF vs Cambridge Part III

Hi there, this has probably been done to death on countless other threads, but I just thought it would be better to get more personal and actual direct replies by making my own post. I plan to go on and study theoretical physics and I've been accepted into both QFFF and Part III Applied Maths...

How very stupid of me, can't believe I missed that. That works, thanks for the help :)

How do you solve a non-linear ODE involving a variable mass dust particle?

Yea the y should've been a v, I've changed it. But I can't seem to be able to separate the variables in the equation because of g, is there another way?

How do you solve a non-linear ODE involving a variable mass dust particle?

Homework Statement At time t=0 a dust particle of mass m_0 starts to fall from rest through a cloud. Its mass grows exponentially with the distance fallen, so that after falling through a distance x its mass is m_0exp[αx] where α is constant. Show that at time t the velocity of the particle...
