I What branch of electrical engineering uses a lot of probability?

+1 for Wozencraft and Jacobs. I also suggest that you look into information theory, which uses probability theory heavily and which is the mathematical scaffolding for communications systems, encoding, data compression (jpeg, e.g.), error correction in disk drives, cell phones and deep space...

Classical The best introductory mechanics textbook

The OP already rejected Sears and Zemansky and Halliday and Resnick (see posts #12, 14) and wants a deeper mathematical treatment. L&L show that conservation laws follow from underlying mathematical symmetries and proceed to equations of motion. I don't know of any true intro book with that...

Classical The best introductory mechanics textbook

In that case, I suggest Landau and Lifshitz.

Why can't satellites be equipped with radar systems so that they can detect (and then avoid) impending collisions?

I'm guessing you've never designed a satellite or a radar, either. Rive has the correct answer in post #5 above.

I Plane wave decomposition of the fields of a dipole antenna

Agreed, if you are after a Hertzian dipole then the case is settled.

I Plane wave decomposition of the fields of a dipole antenna

I'm not convinced. First, the author states on p. 8 "To this author, there is very limited physical reality to the inhomogeneous plane waves [describing the near field] identified in the expansions (41)-(43)." Second, the paper treats a "point dipole" of negligible size, which is the first...

A NMR flip angle - angle of nutation

Precession of the nuclear spin is governed by the Bloch equations, named after Felix Bloch who co-discovered NMR in 1947 and later shared the Nobel Prize with his competitor, the other co-discoverer Edward Purcell. These equations are nonlinear so it is not so simple in a strict sense, although...

I Plane wave decomposition of the fields of a dipole antenna

Propagating waves in the far field have azimuthal (circular) symmetry about the dipole and may be described by spherical waves. Far from the source, curvature of the wave over distances of interest (such as across a receiving antenna) is negligible and the wave may be considered planar to a good...

Is the criteria for the present perfect tense in Warriner's textbook inadequate?

I should have specified, since PF emphasizes providing references. The Cambridge Grammar of the English Language, 2002, contains an entire chapter (Ch. 9, "Mood and Modality") on modals. The Cambridge Grammar is over 1800 pages so, in a strictly literal sense, I suppose it outweighs Warriner's...

Is the criteria for the present perfect tense in Warriner's textbook inadequate?

The reason it doesn’t match is that it’s not the present perfect tense. “Should “ is a modal verb expressing expectation or obligation. Its past tense is formed as “should have” + past participle, hence “should have written.”

What would you memorize if you could?

Poetry. I’m always impressed by (and maybe a bit jealous of) people who can recite poems.

Audio/Video Cancel noise from neighbor with loud bass

Emphasis on “heavy”. You need a wall (concrete or cinder blocks, e.g.) that will not vibrate from the bass noise that you are trying to reflect. BTW, won’t trespassing onto their property put you on the wrong side of the law?

    I Directional magnetic field

Magnetic field lines are always loops, so you cannot emit a field in just one direction.

Surface oxidation of aluminum alloy and electrical continuity

If conductivity must be maintained, you need a surface treatment. A chromate plating (Alodining, e.g.) is standard but there are others available. The best choice depends on the environmental requirements and scratch resistance needed. Your multimeter test is irrelevant over the long term.
