How to carry units in integration

Homework Statement I am trying to integrate from 0 to 10 ft -4x^2/2+4x. I am solving for deflection. The forces are in kips. Somehow the book ends up with k-ft^3. I don't understand how I would carry units in an integration. Any help please? Homework Equations The Attempt at a...

Engineering Need to interview a Civil Engineer

If you don't mind answering this question, would you say the salary is better as a construction manager or about the same? Can all Civil engineers work as a construction manager?

Engineering Need to interview a Civil Engineer

Thank you so much for responding. I erased question 10, but it was basically how many specializations are there is civil engineering. @bklynkenny you said you don't work as an engineer. Is that because you have an MBA now and work as a manager? I am really interested in management.

    Dispersion by diffraction grating

That's the equation I'm used to. If we assume that the angle is small then sintheta=y/L dsintheta=m*wavelength d(y/L)=m*wavelength m*wavelength*L/(d)=y ? I don't know what's wrong with the equation. For the units I converted everything to cm because 1/7300=d in cm.

Induced emf at a specific time

Homework Statement A circular coil with 35 turns of wire and a diameter of 19 cm is placed in a magnetic field given by B(t) = 6 t^2 + 6 t + 2 T where t is time in seconds. The field is perpendicular to the plane of the coil. What is the induced EMF at t = 5 s? Homework EquationsE=-d(magnetic...
