B Is Gravity a Force? - Exploring Relativity

Hi all, another newbie question for you. I often hear gravity described as a force, including speculation that gravitons are its messenger particle, but is that consistent with general relativity? I thought relativity implies it's more like rolling down a hill than being pulled by a force.

B Matter & Spacetime: How Tightly Coupled Are They?

Thanks to everyone for their replies! And thanks to the above poster for stating my premise better than I did. That's exactly what I was referring to. I'm pretty clear on the basics of both special and general relativity such as time dilation (not the formulas, but the concepts), so the...

Hi, I've had a life long interest in physics, but I'm terrible at math, so there goes that career idea. Recently, I've been reading a lot of books, but I end up with questions and no one to ask. I flashed on the idea of trying to find a forum, and here I am. Hopefully my questions won't be...

B Matter & Spacetime: How Tightly Coupled Are They?

Hello, I’m not a physicist or studying physics in school; I’ve just read some books and have some questions that I was hoping someone could help with. Sorry if they’re a little basic. I’m trying to understand how tightly coupled matter is to spacetime. In other words, if you could look at a...
