Well, the primary issue is high frequency noise and it's probably due to a large number of things. The signal comes from a lock-in amplifier which already has a low-pass filter.
Perhaps it helps if I describe the calculation. The first half of the signal represents a measurement taken under...
I have an experiment where I calculate a value based on a waveform acquired by a digitizing oscilloscope. Since the signal is very noisy, I need to average the results many times to get a reasonably accurate value for each measured data point. My question is how should I spend the time averaging...
In my opinion, you should focus on figuring out what you like to do. Don't waste your time trying to find the area that can have the biggest impact, because if you hate the work or aren't any good at it, you won't end up doing much good.
Have you tried to find a summer research position in...
1992. It's this book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0125286279/?tag=pfamazon01-20
Apparently there's also one on minority carriers in the same series, but neither of them seem to be in print.
While reading someone's thesis, I noticed they referenced a certain book constantly throughout, so I checked out a copy using interlibrary loan (our library didn't have it) and found it was incredibly helpful. It described in detail a lot of the theory behind some of the measurements my lab uses...
My rough estimate is filling up once a month, <$50 per fill, so $600 a year for me. Could have been higher during the summer, so maybe more like $800 maximum.
I bike or bus to school, so most of my mileage is longer trips out of town.
I disagree with this. I would say your elo deserved to be in the 1400s-1500s because your team was presumably not as good as the teams you were randomly matched with.
Starcraft does this correctly IMO because you have a ranking for every team you play with, as well as a "Random Team" ranking...
The spring constant tells you the force exerted by the spring given a certain amount of elongation. It also appears in the equation for potential energy stored in the spring:
F = kx
U = .5kx^2
Since total energy must be conserved, the gravitational potential energy that the "jumper" has...
In practice, you accept all 10 females and none of them decide to go to your university. Why? Because they have better offers elsewhere. I think I have heard that some universities have funding specifically for women (not sure in what form, I suppose some kind of fellowship) which might mean...
