I'm not sure I follow this. Many Visas are valid for a few years. If one year amounts to 11,106, then the total number of Visa holders from these countries seem indeed in the ballpark of 60,000.
A point often overlooked is that these other countries don't benefit from the Atlantic ocean as a natural barrier. Refugees can and do just show up in continental Europe and be vetted/dealt with after the fact. That's mostly not the case for the US. They have to be admitted, which happens after...
The dispute here isn't about whether he has the right or not. It largely isn't even about the vetting, it's about whether the temporary ban was a right move.
That's a good question. Since you are the one arguing for an improved vetting, perhaps you can tell us how can it beefed up. I'd be...
Does the policy paint a bad picture of the US (not just in ME but all over)? I think it does. I'd be furious if I were an American and that was done in my name. Is it significant to fence-sitters/tail of the distribution? It might be for some, but then again a lot of things are. A random...
I never liked this line of arguing. I can't imagine a normal non-radical person getting frustrated that his visa is suspended so he decides to blow himself up with a dozen innocent people. It's unrealistic, and frankly insulting to most people who live in Muslim countries (It's basically saying...
I hope that turns out to be the case. But it doesn't make it Okay IMO. What about the thousands of students and people who have jobs there who would be trapped in the US without being able to see their families or outside where their lives are put on hold for 90 days?
Is any of this really...
The BBC is definitely my favourite to the point that I tend to rely on it entirely (which is probably not a great thing). I used to watch Al Jazeera Arabic TV but I gave up on it many years ago. It was almost comically biased. I'm not sure about their English channel/website though.
Thanks mate! I am indeed a citizen, though not an American one if that's what you meant. In fact I'm yet to visit the US. Sorry for the unintended deception o0)
I'm quite gutted. I can't believe the world will have to deal with his statements on a regular basis now, let alone his decisions, though I still have no idea what those could be. It's hard to distinguish the things he wants to actually do from the things he said just to win the election.
To be...
