Math Needed to Study Physics of Loop QG, ST, QED/CD & GR

It's hard to compare the swedish math education to the american. I don't know how much calculus I know for instance compared to what year of college/ high school in US. But derivatives, integrals, differential equation, complex numbers (don't know if what i read qualifies as complex analysis)...

Math Needed to Study Physics of Loop QG, ST, QED/CD & GR

Hi! This is a question for the physicists. What types of math do I need to study the physics of ... let's say loop quantum gravity, string theory, quantum electro dynamics/ chromodynamics and general relativity on the basic level? Tnx

Explaining the Riemann Hypothesis and Other Famous Math Problems

Hi, I was just wondering if there is available the proof of fermats last theorem on the web, as well as the proof for the poincare conjecture. I was looking over the Riemann hypothesis and I'm having some difficulties... It's claimed that the functions have trivial zeroes at the even...

    Antiderivative to the formula f(x)=(2xr-x²)^(1/2)

Damn! I was going to intergral from 0 to 2r... Trial and error

    Antiderivative to the formula f(x)=(2xr-x²)^(1/2)

Hi, i can't seem to get the antiderivative to the formula f(x)=(2xr-x²)^(1/2) right. Can anyone help me out? By the by, if could anyone link a site with formulas for antiderivatives that would be nice.

Medical Depression: It's All In Your Head.

It's quite interesting that some of the depression medication has proven to be a big fat placebo, i.e. SSRI-medication. The effect has been the same with SSRI as placebo pills in patent diagnosed with depression, exept in cases where the depression was extremely severe. This argument kind of...

Medical Unraveling the Mysteries of Anesthesia: How Does It Work?

I understood your point. There's so very little we know about our brains. It's the least understood object in the universe  One of the greatest questions in science is right with what gravity is and how the perfect guitar riff must sound like what the scientific definition of...

Medical Unraveling the Mysteries of Anesthesia: How Does It Work?

Here's an interesting article on the topic: http://www.scienceblog.com/cms/physicists-challenge-notion-of-electric-nerve-impulses-say-sound-more-likely-12738.html It suggests that nerve-impulses are mediated not by electrical signals, but by soundwaves, rendering the electrical signals...

    Medical Lambert-Eaton vs. Myasthenia Gravis

How comes the clinical presentation differs between LE and MG? In both cases anti-bodys attack the neuromuscular junction, LE attacks the calcium channels on the pre-synaptic axon terminal, and MG the receptor muscles Na/K-channels... Why is there difference in symptoms?
