After experiencing several instances in support of this view, I have come to the conclusion that this forum is not a place of science, but a place of very unhealthy dogmatism and of suppression of dissenting points of view. In fact, I know I am not alone with this opinion.

I have already talked to one of the moderators about this problem. His*her response was that without this kind of policy this forum would be flooded with 'crackpots'. I do not doubt this. What the moderators of this side fail to see is that this kind of policy prevents people from seeking the truth for themselves (which invariably involves getting things wrong from time to time), it sanctions those trying to make a contribution and ultimately provides viable ground for the worst and most dangerous kind of crackpottery: The lie that the ruling narrative is the truth.

Good science is not about protecting truth, it is about pursuing it. Therefore I have decided to leave this place and I recommed that you reflect on what you read here as well.
