Calculate theoretical static pressure drop in moving fluid

I can maybe turn the tube 90 deg into the flow and then measure that pressure?

Calculate theoretical static pressure drop in moving fluid

Hi folks, I have a pressure sensor working with arduino to measure depth. I want to calculate what I should see as a change in pressure if I move the tube horizontally under the surface of the water, keeping the tube opening parallel to the flow. I have calculated the dynamic pressure but...

Ok I see what you're saying now.. Thank you very much!

Quick clarification on equation of motion

I'm sorry I don't know what you mean by other way around. But for #5 up the incline, wouldn't it be x=[(vf2)-(vi2)]/(2a) So negative v on top, negative a on bottom. That takes care of the negative. But I still don't understand if this can be used to find x up an incline. What is the other way...

Quick clarification on equation of motion

So for going up an incline with friction, It has an initial known KE, thus v a comes from Fnet=ma Fnet=u(mg)cos(60)+(mg)cos(60) Then x=v^2/(2a) So x is the displacement up the incline correct? Why is mind getting on the fact that velocity is positive and a is negative? but displacement...

Quick clarification on equation of motion

    so x=v^2/(2a).. x=(at^2)/2 so t=v/a

Quick clarification on equation of motion

Thank you for your response Voko :) I'm an idiot. This is why I feel hesitant to help people on short notice (after being woken up no less!) because I get all overwhelmed and want to make sure everything is perfect and my mind starts making stupid mistakes. So the equation x=(2v^2)/a needs...

Quick clarification on equation of motion

A 900N force acts on a 5kg box in horizontal direction initially at rest. When V=6m/s the force stops. Through what distance was the block pushed. I said this: F=ma v=x/t ---> t=x/v (1) a=v/t (2) combine (1) and (2) a=v^2/x So x=v^2/a That is the same as angular...

Infer diameter of Pluto from orbiting Charon

Sorry ya, that's what I mean. I guess I just got confused with what we can and can't use to infer the diameter. Hey thanks for your response.. So I can see how many Charon equatorial diameters the orbital radius a equals and find out how many equatorial diameters Pluto is and relate plutos...

Infer diameter of Pluto from orbiting Charon

Hey Delphi51 thanks for your response. So as I see the car drive by the light will be blocked for a time x. When I see the bus drive by the light will be blocked for a time y. And y>x I'll say it takes Pluto a time t to cross Charon. But how do I know how far out 'a' extends. And don't...

Infer diameter of Pluto from orbiting Charon

Homework Statement Imagine viewing an eclipse of Charon by Pluto. Assume the satellite orbit is nearly circular, of known radius a, and is viewed edge-on. Explain how you could use the observations to infer a diameter for Pluto Homework Equations Orbital radius R=a The Attempt at a...

Lifetime of CO2 in Mars atmosphere

So is he asking to estimate how long until there is about 0% CO2 in the atmosphere? Or an average time before a molecule escapes?

Lifetime of CO2 in Mars atmosphere

Homework Statement Estimate the lifetime of CO2 in the atmosphere of Mars. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution What is he asking? How long has the CO2 been in the atmosphere? It just seems rather vague.

MATLAB Matrix help in MatLab, Not the simple matrix I have searched, found nothing

What is nesting the for loops? And also, why am I getting negative angles for phi when I said If phi(i,j)<0 phi(i,j)=phi(i,j)+360 end I can say else phi(i,j)=phi(i,j)+360 but then it just adds 360 to everything. I just need to add 360 to phi only if phi is negative.

MATLAB Matrix help in MatLab, Not the simple matrix I have searched, found nothing

Something is wrong with MatLab. Both my copy and the one at school. I have been using it only for a day or so and I have found a big bug. When I restart MatLab, my code that was working just before quitting won't work and will get error. All I have to do is cut it from the file, run the file...
