I found my mistake. I was assuming that
\begin{equation*}
\Gamma(5/2)=\frac{\pi^{1/2}{4}
\end{equation*}
when it actually is:
\begin{equation*}
\Gamma(5/2)=\frac{3\pi^{1/2}{4}.
\end{equation*}
Then everything was correct.
Thank you for your response, and I'm going to keep that paper. It's...
Homework Statement
I have to find the mean Energy $<E>$ and pressure of a system of N fermions with spin 1/2. The energy per particle is
\begin{equation}
\varepsilon = \frac{p^2}{2m}.
\endu{equation}
Homework Equations
The relevant equations are the degeneracy of the system:
\begin{equation}...
Ohh ok, that's good to hear. Thank you.
Yes I know that I did everything in reverse, but the most complicated calculations were the ones for the partition function, so that's what I wanted to ask, if it was correct. I should have said that in the beginning, sorry for that.
Thank you.
Homework Statement
Consider a gas sufficiently diluted containing N identical molecules of mass m in a box of dimensions Lx, Ly, Lz.
Calculate the probability of finding the molecules in any of their quantum states.
Calculate the energy of each quantum state εr, as a function of the quantum...
Hello everyone, I'm doing revision for a final exam in Thermodynamics and i found this exercise i can't solve:
A particular material has a latent heat of vaporization Δh, constant along the coexistence curve. One mole of this material exists in two.phase (liquid-vapor) equilibrium in a...
Hello everybody. I'm about to take a final exam and I've just encountered with this exercise. I know it's simple, but i tried solving it by Separation of variables, but i couldn't reach the result Mathematica gave me. This is the equation:
∂u/∂x = ∂u/∂t
Plus i have a condition...
Hey everyone! I created this account in order to exchange knowledge with you. I've came here a lot of times looking for solutions to problems and other topics.
I'm a Third-year Undergraduate Physics student in Argentina so my English might not be very good, but I'll try my best :)
Good luck and...
