Hi,
I want to know what is the proper boundary condition in COMSOL RF module to study optical interactions, Scattering BC and PML? or what is the difference between them? also I want to know if the rules are different for application of these two BCs in far-field and near-fields studies...
I see the term o"ptical frequency" in some articles. From Wikipedia I read that it means the whole EM spectrum. But something says to me it may be only the visible part of the spectrum. Now, which definition is correct?
Thanks
Sure, this is the paper link

There is not much information about source there, the pulse source was just my idea/question!
I've been reading articles about this consistently during these two days, I have no problem with constructive/destructive interference.
I have another question now, is every diffraction order a portion of the initial incident light being propagated within the medium to produce other diffraction...
I know the theory, also the equation for k'= k+ n 2 pi/period, n being the diffraction order. I want a more physical interpretation. How is it possible that the wavelength is changed when you say at one wavelength away?
Can someone please describe the diffraction orders on a nano-grating?
I am reading articles about imaging devices, and I cannot understand the diffraction orders
For example, incident wave can be mapped into a propagating wave through the -1, 0, and+1 diffraction orders.
Is any of these...

Please read the abstract, A finite-sized ultrathin metallic slab is used to encode subwavelength details of the broadband field radiated by an object.
I have initial information about both waves and their characteristics but I am confused to find a relation between the two when it comes to make a comparison.
Thanks for your explanation, Sophie. I know something about bandwidth but I am concerned about any theoretical solution for measuring bandwidth, if any. i.e. how is it possible to measure the bandwidth if I have the current (I output) results for a photodetector?
It is a PIN photodiode and I am in simulation level. not any experimental work yet. Is it possible to measure bandwidth in simulation level or you need to build and measure it?
