Since there is 50% to produce either of the alcohol or carboxylic acid from 1mol of Aldehyde, does that mean when we calculate the %yield of either product we need to divide the mol of aldehyde by 2 since the ratio is 1 aldehyde to 1/2 of either product? :confused: Thanks!

What would be the expected product if the Grignard reagent prepared is reacted with atompsheric oxygen? How would it be removed from the crude product?
