Yeah I figured as much; that it wasn't necessary. I kinda miss my TI now that it's gone though..was 'fun' watching it plot stuff. I'm going to stick with a Casio FX100AU anyhow.
My Texas Intrusments graphics calculator recently had some liquid spilt over it and therefore doesn't work anymore. I'm now wondering whether it's worth spending some $200 for a new graphics calculator or whether I should just settle for a simple Casio FX100AU? I'm in an Electrical Engineering...
Yep you're right about the DC gain being 1/16, that was my mistake typing it there. And I plotted from 20Hz.
Actually this is my issue. I get the same Magnitude Bode Plot, yet what I don't understand is: why is my input amplitude being attenuated so much? I've set the amplitude at 20Vp, and...
^^I wasn't sure how to determine whether a pole is inside a specified contour but my tutor suggested drawing a graph, which i have been doing, in which case shouldn't (i) have no poles in the contour? As for (iii) then, would Z=+2, and Z=-1 lie in the contour?
Homework Statement
The Attempt at a Solution
So there are poles at: z=\pm2 and at z= -1 of order 4. Right?
My query is, when evaluating these poles (using the residue theorem), is it right that for (i) Z = 1/2, no residues lie in that contour?
for (iii), do all residues lie in the...
Homework Statement
I have two questions to two different problems.
The first:
The Attempt at a Solution
My attempt:
Thing is, the solutions have V2=4.986\angle111.45(degrees) and i can't seem to get to that answer at all? What is wrong with my attempt because i can't see anything...
^^Thanks for the reply, but i figured it out :)
I thought that there'd be no current through the 10ohm resistor, because when you're calculating the Voc, the component on the horizontal branch that leads to one of the open terminals, well isn't the current through that branch zero..?
Homework Statement
^We're asked to find the "Thevenin's equivalent circuit for the source"
The Attempt at a Solution
I'm a bit unsure how to start this problem. What i initially thought was that i'd combine all my impedances in parallel to the point where it's them combined plus the...
I had no clue how to do this and could only grasp the first basic parts but even then i couldn't get it right and in the end i had to look at the answer, which confused me even more. So i was wondering if anyone else understands this, and if so could you describe it in words please?

Oh right sorry, i was just commenting on what robphy said about the Dell, but I've heard mixed views on them.
Although you're right, looking around i notice that tablet PC's are quite pricey!
Hey thanks everyone for the input! I've heard Dell are good, but I've also been suggested HP too? Tablet PC's seem great though, you can take notes in class and all, i'll have to look into them. Although my budget would probably be around 1500 (australian dollars), just something reliable and...
That's the thing though, that's the convenience it provides.
Although you're right ice109, a PC is much easier to fix, this one i have, I've had for roughly 2 years and i haven't even upgraded it hardware wise or anything, it's still going. I just thought that having a laptop would be better...
I'm wondering what some of you think, say you're doing an Engineering degree or something related, or anything else for that matter...and you have other siblings who also go to university while there is only one computer in the house, would having a personal laptop or computer for yourself be...
