Hi all,
I need to find the current through a resistor knowing the # of electrons passing through it over a given time, t. Can someone help me out with this?
I thought it was just I = #elec/time, but this cannot be right (i'm getting values along the lines of 1.5E19 Amps)
Thanks,
Brad
Hi, I've been having some problems with a homework question. In the problem it tells me the resistance of a resistor, and how many electrons pass through it in a given time. t = 5min. #e = 4.4E21. I need to find V.
So, I need to find I since I know R.
How do I do this? The only formula I...
A nonuniform bar is suspended at rest in a horizontal position by two massless cords as shown. One cord makes the angle theta1 = 36.9 with the vertical; the other makes the angle theta2 = 53.1 with the vertical. If the length L of the bar is 6.10m, compute the distance x from the left-hand end...

The problem is:
A uniform thin rod of length = .5m and mass M = 4.0kg can rotate in a horizontal plane about a vertical axis through its center (I = ML^2/12). The rod is at rest when a bullet of mass m = 3.0g traveling in the horizontal plance of the rod is fired into one end of the rod. As...
The Problem is:
A particle executes simple harmonic motion with an amplitude of 2.25 cm. At what position does its speed equal half its maximum speed?
I've been looking at this for a while, and I can't see how to solve it without more information.
If I knew the energy and mass I could...
Hi! This is the first question on my homework, so it's suppost to be the easiest, but I'm not sure how to tackle it. It's a Bernoulli's principle problem. Here it is:
A horizontal pipe 11.6 cm in diameter has a smooth reduction to a pipe 4.72 cm in diameter. If the pressure of the water...
Make a volcano. For an extra little touch (you wanted it to be professional), add a little red food coloring to the vinegar/baking soda mixture. It'll WOW them! :-) jk...good luck with the sci fair though!
Here's the problem as written:
A disk with moment of inertia I1 rotates with angular velocity Wi about a frictionless vertical axle. A second disk, with moment of inertia I2 initially not rotating, drops onto the first disk. Since the surfaces are rough, the two eventually reach the same...
This is a problem that seemed easy to me. I keep recalculating the answer, and I keep getting it wrong. I'm not sure if I'm approaching the problem incorrectly, or if I'm just making some small dumb mistake. Here's the question:
Big Ben (see the figure below), the Parliament Building...
