I am taking this course online, and in one of the slides there is this example, but i can't figure out the signs in the momentum formula.
THANKS!
so here is the exersice:
Homework Statement
Two coaxial circular coils of radius R = 15 cm, each carrying 4.0 A in the same direction, are positioned a distance d = 20 cm apart, as shown in the figure. Calculate the magnitude of the magnetic field halfway between the coils along the line connecting their centers. (μ0 =...
Hello! So this is my lastest attemp:
Since I is a current in opposite direction, is -I (thanks Tsny!)
i j k
0 -0.6 -1.03
0.5T 0 0So:
-3.5[(-0.6*0)-(-1.03*0)]i-[(0*0)-(0.5*-1.03)]j+[(0*0)-(-0.6*0.5)]k
=-1.80j-1.05k
This are the...
Homework Statement
A wire segment 1.2 m long carries a current I = 3.5 A, and is oriented as shown in the figure. The +x-axis points directly into the page. A uniform magnetic field of magnitude 0.50 T pointing toward the -x direction is present as shown. What is the magnetic force vector on...
Homework Statement
Outlets on a household circuit are arranged in:
a)parallel.
b)a combination of series and parallel.
c)series.
d)neither series or parallel.
e)not given
The Attempt at a Solution
I'm lost here...
Homework Statement
What charge appears on the plates of a 6.0-μF capacitor when it is charged to 40 V?
Homework Equations
q=CV
The Attempt at a Solution
q= CV
q=(6microF)*(40V)
q=240microC
am I right here??
thanks!
well is a question for my homework, so all i have is this:
If a fuse repeatedly blows, it should be replaced by a fuse of one step higher rating.
true or false?
I don't have further information
that makes a lot of sence, but I still believe that the question is too generic, because I'm not sure if it is because the fuse is originally too small or there is a problem with the circuit that causes the blowing.
thanks anyway turbo
Homework Statement
If a fuse repeatedly blows, it should be replaced by a fuse of one step higher rating.
true or false?
The Attempt at a Solution
this is because there is too much current in the circuit and it does need to be replace with one of higher capacity? then true?
Thanks!
