An MHB POTW Director has shown agreement with the spirit of MHB by following the forum rules in posting. The username of an MHB POTW Director appears in purple.

To become an MHB POTW Director, there must first be a position opening up, and then the MHB Administrators will choose, in whatever manner deemed appropriate at the time, a candidate who has in some way expressed an interest in becoming an MHB POTW Director and who is then privately asked if they would be willing to take on this duty for MHB. Like the MHB Math Helper, an MHB POTW Director is not considered a staff member. Although there are moderating duties involved, the MHB POTW Director badge is completely independent of staff ranks. What is an MHB Global Moderator, and how do I become one?

An MHB Global Moderator is one rank higher than MHB Moderator, and one rank lower than MHB Administrator. The MHB Global Moderator has moderating privileges on the entire forum, and generally keeps the forum organized by moving threads to the correct subforum, correcting poor thread titles, keeping the general tone congenial, and in other ways enforcing the forum rules. MHB Global Moderators have the power of infracting users that break the rules. The MHB Global Moderators help the MHB Administrators via delegation. Think of the MHB Global Moderator as an executive officer. The username of an MHB Global Moderator appears in green.

What is an MHB Administrator, and how do I become one?

The MHB Administrator is ultimately responsible for managing all aspects of the forum: the look and feel, installing features, awards and promotions, usergroups, forum rules, etc. The MHB Administrator is the highest rank in the staff of MHB. Like the MHB Site Helper, but unlike MHB Moderators and MHB Global Moderators, you do not need to be an MHB Math Helper or MHB Math Scholar in order to be an MHB Administrator. The reason for this is that the skill set required of a forum administrator is different from the skill set required of a forum moderator. MHB Global Moderators together with MHB Administrators make up the senior staff.

What is the MHB Site Owner, and how do I become it?

The MHB Site Owner is the person who owns the domain name, the licenses for the forum software components, hosts the software/database online, and is responsible for all costs involved in running MHB. The rank of MHB Site Owner is not a staff rank, but it is simply a way to publicly identify the owner of the site in the interest of disclosure to the MHB community.

To become site owner of MHB, you must buy out the existing site owner, Jameson. As he is rather ornery and protective of his domain, this could prove to be quite difficult. Bribery might work well, but you will need to find out what Jameson likes. Clues to what he likes may or may not be found by closely studying his posts, and perhaps bribing other staff members. Be advised though, the staff is very loyal and may lead you down the wrong path and/or alert Jameson of an impending offer, so proceed with extreme caution.
