In summary, the conversation discusses the suggestion of creating a nanotechnology sub forum and the reasons for not having one. It is suggested that there is already a sufficient number of forums to cover the topic and creating more sub forums would lead to confusion. The conversation ends with an understanding of the reasoning behind it.

Because there isn't a need for it, as in the frequency of post that falls under that category. The technology and enginnering forums, general physics forum, and the atomic, molecular, and solid state forum are valid forums to post such questions.

We can't make a sub forum simply because it is an area of physics, or else we'd be so cluttered with sub forums that no one would know where to look.

Related to Why isnt there a nanotechnology sub forum

1. Why isn't there a nanotechnology sub forum?

Currently, there may not be a nanotechnology sub forum because it is still a relatively new and rapidly developing field. Many online forums and communities may not have yet caught up with this emerging field and may not have enough members with expertise in nanotechnology to sustain a dedicated sub forum.

2. Is there a specific reason why nanotechnology does not have its own sub forum?

The decision to create a new sub forum on any online platform is typically based on the demand and interest from the community. If there is not enough demand for a nanotechnology sub forum, it may not be created. Additionally, some online platforms may have a limited number of sub forums available and may prioritize other topics over nanotechnology.

3. Can't nanotechnology just be discussed in existing sub forums related to science and technology?

While nanotechnology may be related to other fields of science and technology, it is a highly specialized and complex field that may require its own dedicated space for discussion and collaboration. Having a separate sub forum for nanotechnology can also help to attract and connect experts and enthusiasts in the field.

4. Will there ever be a nanotechnology sub forum in the future?

It is possible that as nanotechnology continues to advance and gain more mainstream attention, there may be an increase in demand for a dedicated sub forum. However, this ultimately depends on the decisions of the online platform and the interest from the community.

5. Are there any other alternatives for discussing nanotechnology online?

Yes, there are various online communities and forums focused specifically on nanotechnology. These may be more specialized and provide a more focused space for discussing and sharing information about nanotechnology compared to a general science or technology forum.
