In summary, a retired non-scientist can contribute to the world of physics by providing new perspectives and ideas, supporting and advocating for scientific research and education, and utilizing their diverse skills and experiences to contribute to the advancement of the field. They can also serve as mentors and inspire the next generation of physicists, and use their resources and platforms to raise awareness and address societal issues related to physics. While they may not have a formal background in the field, retired non-scientists can still make valuable contributions to the world of physics through their passion and dedication to the subject.

How did you find PF?

Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I'm retired, and my knowledge of physics is limited to one year of college physics over 50 years ago, plus whatever I've picked up from books and publications for general readership over the years.

I'm looking forward to reading the discussions here, and maybe posing some questions that I hope won't be too dumb.
