In summary, the conversation is about the search for a list of "Uses of Astronomy" and "Future uses of Astronomy". The person has not been able to find much information other than time-keeping and is seeking more help. Navigation and using the cosmos for observational experiments are mentioned as some uses of astronomy, and Einstein's general theory of relativity is given as an example of how astronomy has been used in the past.

I'm just looking for a list of "Uses of Astronomy" that I can look up in more detail.
I've done quite a few searches, but can't seem to find anything other than time-keeping.

Also, if anybody knows any "Future uses of Astronomy", then that would be a big help.

If you think I'd get more of a reply in the astronomy forum, then please tell me, as I need all the info I can get.

Thanks in advance.

Navigation is one use off the top of my head.

Our calander is based on astronomical patterns (loosely).

Future uses. The cosmos is a place where we can conduct observational expirements to learn about physics that we can't replicate here on earth, black holes for example. Einstein's general relatively was confirmed by observing the motion of mercury, one way that has been used.
