Solid State Theory Walter A. Harrison Solutions?

In summary, the individual is looking for a solution set to the book "Solid State Theory" by Walter A. Harrison. They have checked the publisher's website but have not found one, even though other books by the same author have solution sets available. They are open to finding a non-official solution set, such as course notes with worked-out problems.

Hi I was recently picked up solid state theory by Walter A. Harrison. I was wondering if anyone happened to have a solution set to this book as the publisher site does not have one up. Harrison has solution sets for other books up on the publisher's site so I feel like this one should be out there somewhere. Even a non-official solution set would be extremely helpful (course notes using book w/ some problems worked out etc.). Thanks guys!

Related to Solid State Theory Walter A. Harrison Solutions?

1. What is Solid State Theory and why is it important?

Solid State Theory is a branch of physics that deals with the properties of solid materials, such as crystals and semiconductors. It is important because it helps us understand the behavior of these materials, which have a wide range of applications in technology and industry.

2. Who is Walter A. Harrison and why is he associated with Solid State Theory?

Walter A. Harrison was a British physicist who made significant contributions to the field of Solid State Theory. He is best known for his work on the electronic structure of solids and his book "Solid State Theory," which is considered a classic in the field.

3. What are some common applications of Solid State Theory?

Solid State Theory has numerous applications in everyday life, including the development of electronic devices such as transistors, diodes, and solar cells. It is also used in the production of materials for construction, medicine, and renewable energy technologies.

4. How does Solid State Theory explain the behavior of solids?

Solid State Theory explains the behavior of solids by studying the arrangement of atoms and electrons within the material. It takes into account factors such as crystal structure, electronic properties, and interactions between atoms to predict the properties and behavior of solids.

5. What are some key concepts in Solid State Theory?

Some key concepts in Solid State Theory include band theory, which explains the electronic properties of solids, and crystallography, which studies the arrangement of atoms in crystals. Other important concepts include defects in crystals, semiconductors, and magnetism in solids.
