[SOLVED] Noam Federman: Israeli politico-religious prisoner
Noam Federman is under administrative detention, which means he has not been charged with any crime but is being held indefinitely in sub-human conditions, much worse that we give our terrorist Palestinian prisoners.
Recently we were all told that he was being moved from the horrendous prison in which he was in isolation, starving (because he refused to eat the food which was not certified kosher), denied all visitors including his wife and children, and located right next to the terrorist murderers Dirani and Obeid, in fact surrounded by Arab terrorist prisoners, who hurled insults and threats at him throughout the day and night. Thanks to the huge public outcry, Noam was moved to another prison, where we were told that he would now have the opportunity to attend minyan, observe Shabbat, and receive visitors, especially his family.
Well, this was a lie. He is now in a prison in Ashkelon, not in isolation but in a full jail room with not a single religious prisoner. All Shabbat the tv is blaring in the room, giving him no peace. There is no minyan for him to attend. He is being denied medical care, which he desperately needs as he is quite ill. And, worst of all, he is still denied any visitors, especially his wife and children.
For everyone who cares about democracy and the humane treatment of all our citizens, especially those who have not committed any crimes and against whom there is not a shred of evidence of having committed crimes, we must let the authorities know that we are aware of what is happening and insist on immediately improvements in Noam Federman's situation! Ideally, he should be released completely if he is not to be charged with any crimes.
Call Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz (he signed the original order of administrative detention), 03-697-5436 or fax 03-697-6218 or email smofaz at knesset.gov.il or sar at mod.gov.il ; Internal Security Minister Tzachi Hanegbi, 02-530-8039 or email zhanegbi at knesset.gov.il; and Minister of Public Security / Police, Uzi Landau, 02-530-8500 or fax 02-581-1832 or email ulandau at knesset.gov.il.
