In summary, The conversation is about the genre of the song "Feeling Good" by Nina Simone. Some argue that it is jazz, while others say it is closer to soul or R&B. The song itself covers a range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, folk, R&B, gospel, and pop. It is difficult to distinguish between R&B and jazz for some songs, as they may have elements of both genres. The song has a jazzy band riff and scat singing, but also has a folky blues intro and a hint of Big Band instrumental. Overall, it is a blend of different styles and can be classified as vocal jazz according to All-Music.com.

It sounds Jazz to my ears. But I'm pretty novice about music genres.

Not jazz - I'd say it's closer to soul or R&B.

I love this song, I hear it often on the jazz radio station I listen to and on Pandora.

I'm not a musician or a music historian but to me it's jazz, all the way.

The band riff and rhythm and the scat singing are pretty jazzy. The intro is kind of more folky blues.

It has a tint of Big Band instrumental, which sadly overcomes the vocals.
