In summary, celestial navigation has been a crucial tool for sailors and explorers for centuries, but advancements in technology have led to the development of new methods for navigating the stars. From using artificial intelligence to analyze star patterns to incorporating GPS technology, scientists are constantly exploring new ways to improve celestial navigation. These methods not only make navigation more accurate and efficient, but also have potential applications in other fields, such as space exploration and disaster management. While traditional methods of celestial navigation will always hold a special place in maritime history, the evolving techniques being developed by scientists offer exciting possibilities for the future.

How did you find PF?

Hi all.

I am a scientist by trade, but evolutionary biology, not astronomy. I am interested in celestial navigation as a side hobby and am interested in working out some ideas for new methods. I thought I would chat with some folks here.
