I was just thinking the other day how the tire industry can continue to evolve and why there are so many price points for tires. Isn't this something we should have perfected many years ago?

One huge improvement, not mentioned in the vid, has been the mix of rubber to be in contact with the road.
Making it softer, grippier and more resilient to heat, chemicals, sunlight, and erosion has not been easy task.

This second vid shows a summary of the manufacturing process.
The press uses pressure and vacuum for forming the threads and steam for the vulcanization process.
