Hello everyone,
Not sure if this is the right place but...
I probably have a stupid question here but is it possible to stream an RTP/RTCP video stream from an IP camera to an Android device? I am not a programmer but am trying to select a camera to use for my current project.
I have done...
Thanks for the reply. I think I am starting to get it a bit more. I have uploaded the images to this post now. I have attached another image I found online of a single point grounding scheme, it is not from the EMC course I am taking. I think it shows pretty much what I am trying to do.
I can...
I am not asking for any particular thing I am currently working on. It is not for a school exercise but for a real system. I am a new graduate and have been working in the industry now for a couple years. EMC is not covered in university and a lot of it seems like 'black magic' to me.
I work...
Of course it is over my head a bit, thus why I am posting on this forum :)
Yes I am using a switching power supply to convert 48 VDC to the 12 and 5 VDC.
I get that sharing the AC Earth with the DC negative removes the isolation. What I am not understanding is how I would handle the shielding...
Ah, so it will remove the isolation. A typical power scheme we will have is:
AC/DC supply creates 48 VDC
48 VDC goes into circuit and gets converted to 12V to drive a motor (we usually isolate this)
48 VDC also creates two 5 VDC rails, one for comms and the other for video (both isolated...
Hello everyone,
So I am doing this EMC course and got to a section about cable shielding. It was suggested that the best way is to have a 360 connection to the chassis and to connect the ground of the PCB to the chassis as to provide a better return path for the current. It has been suggested...
I have a network setup, an encoder/decoder and a video player that is able to give me an end-to-end latency of 80-120 ms. I was hoping to find a camera that has close to zero latency that I can input into this encoder/decoder.
Hello everyone,
I am trying to find a solution for a low-latency IP camera with less than 100 ms of latency. Using a GigE camera is not possible and I would like to use 100BaseT if possible.
The closest I have gotten with our equipment is 150-200 ms of latency.
We would like to get 1080p30...
Yes, I would like to switch to DC power when there is voltage applied to the jack and not draw from the USB +5V.
I don't think it needs to work dynamically like that. The circuit will always be placed inside an enclosure and the USB cable or DC supply will already be wired up depending on the...
Hello everyone,
I am designing the power system of a new circuit. It will receive an analog video signal and then be able to split that video signal to multiple outputs. I would like to have multiple ways to power the circuit depending on the application. One way to power the device will be by...
Okay so I've managed to get it to a point where I can plug the cables from the PC into the switch and see the lights turn on and start flashing as if they are transferring data. However, I am unable to ping between the two machines.
So I made a loopback cable and when I plug it into the switch a light will turn on. I re-made the cable and took extra care to make sure that pins 1,2,3,and 6 are the only ones connected but when connecting a PC to the switch no lights will turn on - I'm thinking the problem is with the network...
Thank you for the replies.
Yes I have tried switching the Ethernet to 100 Mb half and full duplex - no lights come on on the switch. I will try and splice one of the cables into a loopback and see what happens. I have tried this setup with normal Cat5 cables and everything works fine.
The VDSL...
Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a project that was using an Ethernet extender which converted the signal to VDSL, sent it over approximately 300 feet of tether, converted it back to Ethernet which then communicated with a couple of IP sensors. The extenders are proving to be...
