Job Skills Alternative methods to making $$ w/ a computer science degree?

Not dumb at all, and thank you for the response! My job does TA for STEM and business degrees in the hopes people will stick around. I work in a cal lab, but we have departments in IT, engineering, business, etc. etc. I guess they're hoping people like me will transfer to one of those once we...

Thank you for the sage advice, Dr. I guess I'm just trying to make up for lost time.

Job Skills Alternative methods to making $$ w/ a computer science degree?

My field is calibration. I'd need expensive equipment to do what I do. And most machinists shops repair their tools locally ( I asked ). Side work wouldn't be a problem. Using company equipment to do so...yeah. Thank you for the reply!

Job Skills Alternative methods to making $$ w/ a computer science degree?

Thank you for the reply. Not quite sure what there is to talk about. My current industry is hands-on work. I wouldn't be using my degree if I stuck around.

Job Skills Alternative methods to making $$ w/ a computer science degree?

Ok, so here's where I am at: I'll be 35 this year. Was an engineering major way back when, but switched to comp. sci. and enjoying it very much. I should graduate in 2-2.5 years. Its all paid for through the company I work for now. I'm set. Except...I like where I'm at. I have a decent paying...

Engineering Determine the current in this circuit

Homework Statement Find the current Ig[/B] Homework Equations [/B] V1 = R1/(R1 + R2) * Vs 1/Rtotal = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3...exampleThe Attempt at a Solution I know what I did wrong, but I don't know how to avoid it. Here's what I mean. How do you know which way its suppose to be?

Engineering Circuit diagram: find the equivalent resistance

see that makes sense to me. they're in parallel. But my book has this for example: ( Figure P2.8) There's two different voltage sources but they're connected in parallel, right? How can that be?

I hope you're right. I haven't looked for jobs specifying those things, but I'll give it a glance. Thanks!

Engineering Technician getting an Engineering degree -- Will my work experience transfer?

THanks for the response CalcNerd. Thats what I'm learning so far. Our technicians' salary cap is a respectable wage, but I think plateauing will cause me to become complacent. Plus I have kids and inflation is showing no signs of stopping. I'm just hoping I don't have to take too much of a...

Engineering Circuit diagram: find the equivalent resistance

Homework Statement problem in title:Homework Equations 1/Rtotal = 1/r1 + 1/r2...[/B]The Attempt at a Solution [/B] I can get it down to 4 resistors...but the one's I have circled I don't know how they behave. I just need a little kick in the right direction lol. Thank you in advance!

Engineering Technician getting an Engineering degree -- Will my work experience transfer?

I work now as a technician on a military base. Looking to get my Bachelors in ME. The problem is I have zero experience in engineering ( as expected ). No internships, nothing. I guess my question is will I have to start from the bottom of the pay scale when I graduate? By the time I am...
