Courses Taking CS intro class after taking more advanced class

I’m enrolled in the class, but I want to make sure people aren’t going to look at my transcript and think “I sure don’t want this guy in my lab”

Courses Taking CS intro class after taking more advanced class

Sounds good, I’ll register for it. I would also like to have access to a CS professor on my campus, would there be any repercussions to taking the intro class for that purpose?

Courses Taking CS intro class after taking more advanced class

Other class options are available online through different colleges. This includes an equivalent class to the software engineering course I took or an introduction to Python. I do not fulfill the prereqs to take the classes you mentioned at different colleges and they are unavailable at my own...

Courses Taking CS intro class after taking more advanced class

Intro CS Topics (the class I want to take, advisory to the next classes) • Procedural versus object-oriented programming. Survey of current languages. • Program design tools and programming environments. • Documentation. • Coding conventions. • Data types, variables...

Courses Taking CS intro class after taking more advanced class

I'm thinking about taking an intro to CS course, but I've already taken a more advanced software development class. The intro to CS class is considered an advisory course to the software course I already took and got an A in. The last time I coded was two years ago when I took the software...

Device Needed for Chaotic Systems Demonstration

I'm trying to do a demonstration of chaotic systems for college students. If anybody knows where I can find a desktop double pendulum online / how I can DIY one without woodworking that'd be much appreciated. I did find the "swinging sticks kinetic sculpture", but I'd prefer a more classic...

B Can a skateboarder ride faster by holding a water bottle?

When you are recovering from a push, the skateboard's acceleration catches up to the COM's acceleration, and there is no net torque on the body. He is standing on one pivot point. Handing him a water bottle would do nothing he isn't already doing with his arms, that's why they're so close to his...

B Can a skateboarder ride faster by holding a water bottle?

When I am making really sharp turns, I don't need a water bottle to get the minimized turn radius, I position my weight as far as I can to the side without one. The skateboard will not turn any faster, because the only way to achieve this would be for me to create a greater torque on the side...

B Can a skateboarder ride faster by holding a water bottle?

All actual skateboarding sports involve balance and thus require ease of arm movement. A water bottle would be terrible for ease of arm movement, so you don't see it very often. However, OP's question is specific- they are asking about the effect a water bottle has on your ability to push on a...

B Can a skateboarder ride faster by holding a water bottle?

When I shred wood, I’ve found that “throwing” my arms in front of me helps me generate a greater impulse from my pushing foot on the ground, as long as I have the right timing and stay in balance. I’d think that I’d be able to go faster on my push with added weight in my hands. Will test later.

Programs Cal Poly SLO vs a UCSB Physics Undergrad

I've double checked my admission for UCSB, I've satisfied their transfer admission guarantee. I'm not worried about quality of life stuff, I've already addressed it except for the cost, so I'll wait to see if I get financial aid from schools that accept me. I'd be happy going to CP, but I...

Programs Cal Poly SLO vs a UCSB Physics Undergrad

Do you mean to imply that my educational/grad school opportunities don’t differ too much between CP SLO or UCSB, such that I can make my decision based on other factors like cost and housing?

Programs Cal Poly SLO vs a UCSB Physics Undergrad

Correct. I'm guaranteed admission into UCSB as a transfer. For CP, I'm transferring from a feeder CC with a 50% acceptance rate, all of their requirements done, extra units, and a 3.9 GPA. But sure, I guess I can wait to see if they reject me before asking my questions.

Programs Cal Poly SLO vs a UCSB Physics Undergrad

I plan on going to graduate school for experimental physics, I'll choose a field when I have more experience. Currently, I'm deciding on whether I go to UCSB or Cal Poly for my undergrad. Below is my evaluation of the two universities in terms of physics opportunities: UCSB is one of the top...
