Why would it have the opposite effect?
Maybe the emphasis should be on the solar system level, I just figured maybe such a theoretical energy source could have effects on the universe even if the civilization is only on the solar system
Toady we use energy sources like fossil fuels which in turn cause global warming, which is a slow process in which our planet changes its habitat to a hostile one for humans.

I would like to understand, for a science fiction book idea, if there is a possibility to create a theoretical energy plant that would circle the sun and tap into it's core and drain energy from the core (to use for human needs) and in the process would "drain" the sun or "shorten" it's life...
Ok but I don't understand ... how is it we already know/discovered so many things about the universe, but about our own galaxy we keep discovering new things only recently? Isn't it strange?
So just to be clear:
1. asteroid belt is horizontal
2. kuiper belt and oort cloud are a sphere?
I see that most planets rotate around the sun in a horizontal circle, except for Pluto.
My question is about the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt. Are they horizontal or like a dome? As in can an object go “above” and “below” them in a totally open space?
Also ... is it known and confirmed...
