How Does Stress Affect a Hollow Pipe When Force Is Uniformly Applied?

I didn't do any work because expect saying "it's zero". I got it know, thank you all!

How Does Stress Affect a Hollow Pipe When Force Is Uniformly Applied?

hollow pipe with the force applied as in the picture, that's my problem, it's not clear enought to me

How Does Stress Affect a Hollow Pipe When Force Is Uniformly Applied?

Hi, I've problem thinking about this problem isn't the force acting on "nothing"? how can there be any stress, I'm lost!

    Distributed weight of inclined beam.

Thank you all for the reply it is a big help!!

    Distributed weight of inclined beam.

Right, but how do I draw the distributed load going vertically down? like this:

    Distributed weight of inclined beam.

I know and I solved the problem, I just want to see a free body diagram including the distributed load acting on the bar like this (just how to draw the distributed load and I would appreciate a picture)

    Distributed weight of inclined beam.

If I draw it as Triangle it must be wrong (reason I want to is because I could make the Distributed load vertical then).

    Distributed weight of inclined beam.

I'm having problem in drawing the distributed load (weight per foot) for the inclined beam as it shows. should it be rectangular? if so shouldn't the distributed load be vertical down as the resultant weight at the centroid (W) please help me understand how to draw the free body diagram for this...

Solving 2-D vector along three directions (say at 0,60 and 120 degree)

I would love to see more simple math expression. Thank you this helped a lot.

Solving 2-D vector along three directions (say at 0,60 and 120 degree)

Yeah it's the math that still confuse me can't get hold of it. the post #12 helped me get it anyway!

Solving 2-D vector along three directions (say at 0,60 and 120 degree)

I am sorry, I can't see how we are free to use any value for C expect 0 when we talk about 2D vector.

Solving 2-D vector along three directions (say at 0,60 and 120 degree)

Oh thank you, this helps! Okay so I now think it must be YES for both of 1 and 2 and both must be uniquely right? Because it only works only one way for each question! Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Solving 2-D vector along three directions (say at 0,60 and 120 degree)

Thanks for your time, but I'm totally sure this is more complicated than what I thought it would be :O I think you missed my simple question, what does unique mean and can I break a 2D vector into 3 components? (If I got the question right)
