B Why are gravitons needed to explain gravitational attraction?

Thank you for your replies! If you have an object traveling through "normal" space/time and it comes across the lower energy space/time distortion field (i.e. "gravity well") created by a massive object, wouldn't the object naturally move toward the lower energy distortion field due to the...

B Why are gravitons needed to explain gravitational attraction?

Isn't the mechanism that any object settles/moves toward the lowest available energy state?

B Why are gravitons needed to explain gravitational attraction?

Hi! Isn't gravity just a smaller object moving toward the lower energy state created by a larger object (time slows down the closer you are to a massive object)? Why do we need a force carrying particle for gravity?

cool beans...thanks everybody! forgive me, i am an (obvious) amatuer. :]

Exploring the Concept of Relativity: A Thought Experiment on the Ferris Wheel"

well yes, I'm aware of that. it's the only flaw i could think of. but, you would only need enough energy to get the central rotation up to a speed close to that of light; yes i know it would fall apart at the edge...maybe I'm just a victim of wishful thinking? overactive imagination?

why isn't rotational velocity relative? why is it excluded from relativity?

Exploring the Concept of Relativity: A Thought Experiment on the Ferris Wheel"

I've been thinking about this for a while now. I suppose I call it the Ferris Wheel. It has to do with relativity / the speed of light. A Ferris Wheel spins...slower at it's center, and faster at it's edge. If (use your imagination) you could build a Ferris Wheel big enough, and get the...
