Finding Electric Field at a Specific Point and on the Y-Axis

Let a point charge Q1- 25 nc be located at (4,-2,7) and Q2= 60nc be at (-3,4,-2). a)Find E at (1,2,3) b)at what point on the y-axis is Ex=0 For part a) i found the electric field to be 68.92x-32.319y+85.936z b)would electric field on Ex be 0 at y=32.319??

Chemical Reactions: Why we Use Symbols with Numbers

I was wondering how come when ever there's a question like aluminum reacts with bromine it is usually written like Al + Br2? or Potassium reacts with oxygen is K + O2? How do we know when there's 2 of them?? Is there like a special rule? Why isn't there K2 or Al2??

How can orthogonal trajectories be found for a specific family of curves?

    The set of orthogonal trajectories for the family indicated by ( x-c)^2 + y^2 = c^2 My work: y' = -(x-c)/y Since c= ( x^2 + y^2 ) / 2x plugging back in and doing -1/y' i got y' = 2xy / ( x^2 - y^2) Then I am supposed to move the x and y to a side and integrate but i don't...

    General Solution for Differential Equation: 6x y^2 -6x + 3 y^2 -3

actually I am still having trouble do i still use the bernoulli method? so it is a simple separation problem?

    General Solution for Differential Equation: 6x y^2 -6x + 3 y^2 -3

    Give the general solution of: dy/dx = 6x y^2 -6x + 3 y^2 -3. No clue how to start. Guessing you would use Bernoulli's equation but i don't see how it is possible to put in the y'(x) + p(x)y(x) = q(x) y(x)^n form.

What is the general solution for a differential equation involving e^x and e^-y?

    the general solution for ye^x dy/dx = [e^-y ] + [ e^ -2x-y ]is: so i tried to see if this was a homogenous equation but it is not. next i tried to simplify and got: y e^y dy= (1+e^-2x) dx / e^x

    Radiation and temperature time

Homework Statement The Earth intercepts 1.27 ´ 1017 W of radiant energy from the Sun. Suppose the Earth, of volume 1.08 ´ 1021 m3, was composed of water. How long would it take for the Earth at 0°C to reach 100°C, if none of the energy was radiated or reflected back out into space? no...
