A Discretization of diffusion equation of a fluid in movement

Thank you for the correction. I will look into the method of characteristics to apply it to my problem. The PDE are written in the figure below.

A Discretization of diffusion equation of a fluid in movement

Should the convection term be positive even if element 2 (at T2) is to the right of the fluid (element 1 to the left)? I didn't know about the characteristics method... So it's easier for me to use the finite element method.

A Discretization of diffusion equation of a fluid in movement

Hello, I want to model the thermal behaviour of a moving heat transfer fluid in 1D, with convective exchanges with the walls. I have obtained the following equation (1 on the figure). I have performed a second order spatial discretization with decentred schemes at the extremities (y = 0 and H)...

A Heat exchange in a thermal storage based on phase change materials

Thank you for your response. I will check for the integration in terms of enthalpy.

A Heat exchange in a thermal storage based on phase change materials

I think I am making a mistake with equation (4). The hot heat transfer fluid is against the flow of the cold. Shouldn't there be a minus sign before $$m c_p$$ (on the left of the equality)?

A Heat exchange in a thermal storage based on phase change materials

It's correct what you said. For the enthalpie, I used that equation to determine the equation inside the PCM (see picture) And thanks for the equations (3) and (4). It will be easier to solve with one less term

A Heat exchange in a thermal storage based on phase change materials

Hello, I want to model a thermal battery based on phase change materials (PCM). It is a plate heat exchanger immersed in a PCM bath. The diagram is given in the attached file. I want to determine the temperature at each moment and from everywhere in the battery. The hypotheses are the...
