In astable mode, the 555 timer puts out a continuous stream of rectangular pulses having a specified frequency. So this means that in the Astable mode, the 555 timer is having continuous pulses, which means that continuous HIGH & LOW are being generated in this mode ? Right ? !

If I connect a potentiometer with the Trigger, would I be able to get HIGH & LOW immediately one after another ?

Can anyone please tell me what does this sentence means ? In the monostable mode, the 555 timer acts as a “one-shot” pulse generator.

And berkemen, you mean that if I connect another IC with my circuit then it will be able to develop a sort of delay in its functioning ?

So you mean that I will have to use the formula which is available on wikipedia t = RC ln (3) ?? and from this, I will try to get t=2 by changing the values of the resistors and the capacitors ?
